The ever increasing need for quality funding for medical research in India...!!

India is making great strides in technology especially space technology. Powered by the brains of IIT's and funding by the Government of India. India is now a respected entity in space technology. While Indian doctors are highly respected for their skills, they are relatively unknown for good medical research. In fact, no Indian has received a nobel prize for medical research.

The United States of America vide National Institute of Health (NIH) spends almost $ 30 billion on medical research annually which is distributed to private universities and labs with good proposals. The investment by government of India is negligible compared to this. Hence, there is an increasing need for quality funding for medical research in India in order for India to become a respected entity in Medicine.
